Visit 2 of the most famous islands in Greece and sample the best they have to offer, before hopping on a plane to visit Northern Greece and explore unchartered territory and unknown wineries with some of the best varieties and local products available. From volcanic islands, to crystal blue waters to towering mountains, you will see all that Greece has to offer in this gastronomic journey.

Day 1 | Arrival In Santorini

Start your tour on the volcanic island of Santorini! Upon arrival, meet your guide and begin your full day tour of the island! Visit the archaeological site of Akrotiri, the traditional town of Megalochori and the famous red beach, before settling down in a winery for your first Santorini wine tasting experience. Wine has been made on the island in a completely unique way for thousands of years, in the shape of a cylindrical ‘basket’ on the ground, due to the volcanic terrain and natural phenomenon of ‘sea mist’. Learn all about the way local producers make this excellent wine by walking through the actual vineyards, before sitting down to enjoy your tasting with a meal specially selected with locally grown products. Following your tour, your private transfer will take you to your hotel in order to check in and enjoy the evening at your own leisure.

Day 2 | Winery & Catamaran Tour

Today we will visit our second winery in Santorini and sample more indigenous varieties with some accompaniments. The variety of ‘Assyrtiko’ put Greek wines on the map, but there is now much more than this to try, such as the red ‘Mavrotragano’ or the lesser know ‘Aidani’ white variety. Following the tasting, transfer to the port to embark on one of the most popular activities – a catamaran tour of the volcano! View the spectacular island from below and swim in the volcanic waters of ‘Palia Kameni’ before your BBQ meal on board. The day finishes with you admiring the world famous sunset from the boat, before returning to the port. Private transfer to your hotel for overnight stay.

Day 3 | Crete

Following your breakfast at the hotel, check out and visit one more winery with lunch before going to the port for your ferry to Crete! (Here we can substitute this island with another according to our clients wishes). Upon arrival in the town of Rethymno, Crete, transfer to your hotel for some free time and overnight stay.

Day 4 | Chania, Crete

Drive across the historic lands of Crete until you reach our next winery. Here you will also enjoy a cooking class with famous Cretan products and learn to cook various Greek delicacies. Following your lesson, you are free to eat and enjoy your own creations, which will be paired with local wines.

Day 5 | Beach Day / Free Day

Today is a free day to enjoy another aspect of Greece – its famous crystal like beaches! You can also opt out of this in order to lounge at your hotel or walk around the old town of Chania for some exploring and shopping.

Day 6 | Olive Oil Tasting / Winery

Today we will explore one of Greece’s most famous products – olive oil. Join a lesson in exploring the methods of cultivating olives, as well as an olive oil tasting, and learn to distinguish between the different types. Then we will travel to another winery, famous for its take on local Cretan varietals and enjoy a food and wine tasting. Return to the hotel for some free time and an overnight stay.

Day 7 | Fly To Northern Greece

Today we leave Crete behind us and transfer to Chania airport for your flight to Thessaloniki – Greece’s second largest city, famous for its foodie scene! Upon arrival, we immediately begin our city tour that is rich in Byzantine history and different cultures. Visit the food market and sample all the different types of local dishes before heading to your hotel for check in and free time.

At night, enjoy a dinner with specially selected food and wines from Northern Greece. Overnight at your hotel in Thessaloniki.

Day 8 | Visit To Winery

Northern Greece is rich in gastronomy culture and famous for its many different wineries, ranging from some of the first in Greece, to new and modern boutique wineries. Today we will spend time sampling all the varieties of the region and walking through a winery with a guide before your picnic lunch. Return to your hotel for some free time on your final evening in Greece.

Day 9 | Departure

Today concludes your foodie journey in Greece, where you will hopefully be full from Greek flavours (& wisdom!). Transfer to the airport for your departure flight home. We hope the memories of Greece bring you back once more!
